Why a CAP?
Lonza Riverside
is committed to being a loyal, long-standing member of the community
and a good corporate citizen. In order to accomplish that, an open and
honest communication must be established between Lonza and the plant
community. Lonza feels that the CAP is an excellent vehicle to establish
a collaborative relationship with the community -- a relationship built
on mutual respect and shared wisdom.
CAP members, as
they get to know and trust Lonza, become emissaries to the community.
Members relay Lonza's environmental efforts, safety record and its philosophy
of being a good corporate citizen to their families, neighbors and other
members of the community. More importantly, CAP members bring issues
that concern the community to Lonza.
The CAP process
encourages ongoing, organized discussions about plant operations and
community interests through regularly scheduled meetings and goal setting
which fosters the commitment to finding acceptable solutions.
